information this morning about a shooting that injured four people. as paul chambers tells us, one of the victims is a nine-year- old girl, paul? >> reporter: good morning pam, this was a child's birthday party and there was about 30 people in attendance including a nine-year-old. >> there was a party going, there were kids i heard firecrackers and i heard all the screaming and i went over and the kids were crying and all that stuff. >> pittsburgh police said two people wearing dark clothing and black ban danes walk -- bandannas walked up and started shooting into the garage. -- into the garage. two of the victims had to be taken to the hospital in critical condition however all four victims are expected to survive. they may have jumped into a car but if you know anything about this you are asked to call pittsburgh police. of course we will stay on top of this and bring you the latest. ktvu channel 2 news. >>> in overnight news, police arrested 7 occupied protesters in san francisco. officers tried to clear out an end campment about 3:30 when they loaded the stuff on to a struck de

are getting ready for a possible raid on the encampment at the plaza, joining us from oakland, colby rasmus joins us with more. >> reporter: there are between 200 and 400 people camped out as part of the oakland occupied demonstration and since we have been here it seems like a tense sleepless night, since last night, they said there was going to be some sort of police raid and they would take down the encampment and the tents and since then, they have been preparing for that. at 1:30 it didn't seem there were too many people sleeping and since 1:30, we saw the group had spotters on all four corners of this intersection which is 14th and broadway. the sign of law enforcement, we did see 20 chp vehicles and at that time the protesters also saw those vehicles and we can hear shouting going on people saying get up, get up waking up the people who were still asleep and telling them to get prepared. we are not sure where they are standing but people have put up dumpsters and some wooden barricades, some wooden pallets outside the encampment, not sure what it is for but it appears that people ar

to the desk. >>> this morning, the u.s. coast guard is still searching for a kayaker missing in the san francisco bay near pier 80. what's happening with the search now? >> reporter: well, this is still a rescue mission this morning. the coast guard has an 87-foot boat in the water looking for any sign of the missing kayaker. the crews have been searching the water since sunday afternoon at 3:30. friends say he was an experienced kayaker. when he was too close to a tug boat directing a barge, the wake was too much. >> as he was coming up, it wept like this and it pushed us this way. we went through it. when i turned around to watch him, his boat was already over. >> reporter: when he didn't resurface, the tug boat pilot called for help. his friends aren't giving up hope. the cancer survivor has beaten the ods before. >>> well, an 18-year-old woman is expected to survive after being -- shot. the police received the report last night. the officers found the teen suffering from one gunshot wound. she was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. the police haven't released informat

. >>> overnight we learned about several laws that governor jerry brown has signed or vetoed. live to tell us about one new law. >> reporter: this is landmark legislation. it basically bans minors from using tanning beds. it will be a welcome news for the american cancer society. starting january 1 anyone under the age of 18 will have to resort to a spray tan to get the sun kissed glow. it allowed those between 14 and 18 to use the beds with parental consent. the bill's sponsor says the ultraviolent emitting rays are lethally dangerous. "skin cancer is a rising epikemmic and the leading cause of cancer for women between 25- 29. ." there is one other state that has banned the use of them for children under 16 but california is the first state to ban at a higher age limit. >>> we've learned that governor jerry brown signed a law banning the open carry of handguns. offenders could face up to one year in jail and a potential $1,000 fine. >>> another bill will require alcohol sales to be banned. the governor vetoed a bill to place new requirements on developers of large retail outlets. lawmaker

. as kraig debro tells us, there is now a large railly outside the board of supervisors meeting, here is more. >>reporter: there are dozens if not more occupying this spot out here and just for your information there are people still in front of the federal building but there is another group fearing confrontation with police, police gave an order they were to leave by 10:00 last night but the demonstrators are still here. at the time police generally stayed ahead of the protesters who were marching up market street but when they began walking in between cars police began to push people out of the street, drag them out of the street after they refused orders to leave the street. a lot of people were accusing police of heavy handed tactics. the reason they are having people move out of the street and one of the reasons they want to move them out of this plaza is the safety issue involved. >> there are issues about open flames, about tents erected on the sidewalks, it is a public safety issue. >> we are not leaving at 10:00, we are not leaving. >> we got word that they were fearing police were

people outside a warehouse. as kraig debro tells us, this should not have happened in the first place. >> reporter: we are at the police department hoping to get more details about just what happened. it happened at a party at warehouse early sunday morning and this warehouse is located in the industrial area of town but police say the organizers of the party did not have a permit but they may not have needed one. they called it a tattoo party and 150 people were leaving when gunfire erupted. suvs were shot at. when it was over the parties and the doors had been shock -- party doors had been locked. >> as they were leaving the parking lot that is when the victims were approached by two gunman on foot. they shot multiple rounds at the victims and they fled in an unknown direction. >> he had -- >> reporter: he had recently been admitted to san francisco state. 19-year-old girl was also killed. three others were wounded by the gunfire and their conditions are not known at this hour. we will talk to san leandro police about what happened and they told us yesterday because it was a private

school faced with closure. winds rushed school tells us it has raised more than 650,000 dollars and they still need to raise $900,000 by friday. that would allow them to stay open through june. now parents of the students of the school have been soliciting donations since they found out a week ago that the school could have to close at the end of this months. one pledged a $250,000 matching donation. >>> the $25,000 reward in the bryan stow beating case has been renewed. they have extended it until january 15thth. bryan stow's children can now be added to a civil suit against the l.a. dodgers. by reducing security they allowed the attack on bryan stow to happen. the judge says bryan stow's two children cannot join the suit because they were not at the stadium at the time of the attack. >>> they are accused of end businessing -- embezzling $1,000, they say he embezzled thousands of dollars over a five-year period. now police also arrested marco on embezzlement charges and investigators say he took $40,000 from the associations' fund while acting as the treasurer of the group. >>>
